1st Lieutenant W. Smythe served aboard the G.F.S. Tyr when it crash landed on Aether. Smythe may have been a squad leader of one of the two forces, and was one of two 1st Lieutenants. He was most likely killed by Splinters, and his body probably became a Dark Trooper, which would have been destroyed by Samus.
