Aaron Walker is the lead software engineer at Retro Studios since December 2005. Previously, Walker worked for EA Tiburon on Madden NFL 2002-2004, Arena Football and Superman Returns. He left after "things at EA had reached a point where i just couldn't feel happy with staying there." Intending to work for Midway Games, he received a call from Retro Studios and ultimately began to work for them on the same day he was supposed to work for Midway.[1] While at Retro, Walker was a software engineer for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the senior software engineer on the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Donkey Kong Country Returns, and the lead on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Walker is responsible for digital content creation tools, tool/game interoperability, pipelines, processes, and backend and user-facing tools. In a blog post on May 7, 2007, Walker reflected on an entry task he completed when he joined Retro Studios: creation of a creature AI for Corruption. He had learned that this AI would be used with a different model and different behavior, but with no modification to the code. Walker did not specify which creature this was, however.[2]
