Alpha Splinter

An Alpha Splinter is the alpha male of a Splinter pack, usually a larger Splinter than its fellows. It uses the simple jumping attack deployed by all Splinters.

A group of Splinters and an Alpha Splinter resided in Aether's Great Temple. Samus Aran progressed through the temple and destroyed them all, even when the alpha was turned into a Dark Alpha Splinter. Only one Alpha Splinter is encountered in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and it is turned into a Dark Alpha Splinter if harmed enough, so it must be scanned quickly for a full Log book.

Morphology: Alpha Splinter. Alpha male of a war pack. Gigantic predator. Very swift and strong, it uses ramming attacks to defeat its foes.

In the manga Episode of Aether, the Alpha Splinter was much larger than its in-game version, and differed morphologically from it in several ways, such as having teeth and a large central eye. It was also appeared in a different area near the crashed GF ship and was attempting to kill one of the surviving Galactic Federation Marines before Samus intervened. A few shots from her power beam were enough to beat it.
