Anti-Phazon Units are similar to Energy Capsules and only appear on Phaaze. In the NTSC version of the game, Anti-Phazon Units reduce the amount of Samus' Phazon corruption by 25 units. In the PAL version of the game, Small Anti-Phazon Units reduce it by 25 units, and Large Anti-Phazon Units reduce it by 50 units. Collecting these items is the only way other than using the Hyper Grapple to lower Samus's Phazon energy. Also, these units are always blue, unlike the normal energy capsules. These Units also are never of varying properties in the NTSC version; there is only one form, so there are no alternatives that remove any other levels of corruption.
These units resemble the image of Phaaze displayed by Aurora Unit 242 before travelling to the planet.
