Arachnus-X is the first boss Samus Aran faced aboard the Biologic Space Laboratories research station. As with most of the other creatures on the station, the one she meets is actually an X mimicking an Arachnus, a creature native to SR-388. Arachnus-X is located in a large room on the Main Deck.

• A remix of Arachnus-X's boss music is heard when battling the Berserker Lord from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The two creatures are somewhat similar in appearance, and both appear as the first bosses of their respective games.
• In trailers for the game, Samus is shown fighting Arachnus-X in a much larger arena than the one shown in the final game.
• The fact that it curls up in a ball to attack Samus may be related to the fact that the Core-X contained the Morph Ball ability, much in the same way that the Guardian bosses from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes used the powers that they had taken.
