Arcterra is a snowball of a planet, being completely frozen over as it is the farthest planet from the Alimbic sun. Because of the extreme cold, it is populated mostly by machines, such as Voldrums, Psycho Bits, and Guardians, as well as the odd Alimbic Turret.

Arcterra (The Ice Cave)
"This planet is located at the farthest reaches of the Tetra Galaxy. Arcterra is a barren and frozen world with caves and underground catacombs."

• Being so cold, some floors have frozen over, making them slippery.

• The Teleporter on the left of the landing site takes you to the Ice Hive, and the one on the right takes you to Fault Line, both rooms containing the Boss Portals.

• In Fault Line, you fight the Arctic Spawn for the Imperialist.

• This is the first planet in the Alimbic Cluster that you encounter Trace and Noxus.

• Late in the game, Noxus and Sylux take up residence here.

[edit] Etymology

Arcterra is a portmanteau of "terra", meaning Earth or land, and "Arctic", which is the region around the North Pole.

The word Arctic comes from the Greek αρκτικός (arktikos), "near the Bear, arctic, northern" and that from the word άρκτος (arktos), which means bear. The name refers to the constellation Ursa Major, the "Great Bear".
