In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, B-Stl was one of the 10 Keybearers. She was the mate of J-Stl, another Keybearer. The similarity in names suggests that the Luminoth follow a matrimonial naming tradition similar to those found in many Earth cultures.

Before it was collected by Samus Aran, B-Stl's Sky Temple Key was located in the Dark Oasis area of Dark Agon.

• B-Stl's dead body is found in the Main Reactor. It is odd that it was found there, because the area was in the Space Pirates' base on Aether. The only logical theory was that it was placed there after the base was built, or that the Pirates arrived during the war. Noting the Ing's close proximity to U-Mos in the beginning, the latter is more likely.
• Oddly, B-Stl's body cannot be scanned before Samus obtains the Dark Beam; in fact there is no indication of her body's presence until after the beam has been obtained. This suggests that B-Stl may have still been alive before ultimately succumbing to any wounds she received in battle or being killed by the Ing.
• Her name may be intended to be spoken as "Be still." That is one of Samus's few lines in her first (non-canonically) voiced speaking role (as a victory message in Super Smash Bros. Brawl).
