Jet boots recovery

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, Zero Suit Samus has a new up recovery move known as Boost Kick. Replacing her Plasma Wire move from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Samus makes use of her new Jet Boots to perform a more reliable recovery. Samus performs a rising kick, and when used against opponents, Samus will ascend while damaging them and then finish with a kick, similar to Wolf's Fire Wolf.

This move, unlike Plasma Wire, puts Samus into a "helpless" status, in which she flashes as she falls, unable to move until she lands (unless attacked). The move is somewhat difficult to land perfectly, but very powerful for incapacitating and launching opponents. Boost Kick has three variants, which can be used by customising her character:

  • Boost Kick - "Rise into the air, striking multiple times, and then finish with a spinning kick." The move does 13% in all.
  • Impact Kick - "Kick opponents into the air, and then finish with a powerful spinning kick." The upward kick does 7% damage, and the finish 12% (19% total). It is the most powerful variant of this move.
  • Lateral Kick - "Lift opponents into the air at an angle, and then dash forward with a spinning kick." The upward kick does 11% on the way up, and 16% with the finish. It is more of a risky move.
