Bryyonian Golems are statues developed by the Bryyonians to accomplish various tasks. They appear to function by the usage of magic and are capable of performing many different functions too difficult or impossible for ordinary people. Samus encounters many of them during her mission to Bryyo and uses able to use them by usage of the Morph Ball. They are extremely durable and surprisingly agile. Several are capable of wall jumping, blowing fire, blowing freezing breath, and energizing various objects.

Bryyonian Labor GolemEdit

Main article: Bryyonian Labor Golem

The one Bryyonian Golem that does not shut down permanently after use. Samus uses it to jump up and down a shaft leading to the Hidden Court in Bryyo Cliffside. While Samus can use it as many times as she likes, it is not needed more than once in the game.

Mogenar-class War GolemEdit

The larger of two golems, Mogenars were developed for the protection of the Last Lord of Science. In taking the advice of the Chozo, Mogenars are a fusion of both magic and science, as they run on Fuel Gel but use magic-based weapons. Unlike Labor Golems, Mogenars are far taller, sometimes being the size of small mountains. They have hornless faces and no bellybutton, and despite being body guards, are never shown with weapons. Only two can actually be activated, one by the switch on its head, another by the Morph Ball, the rest are unfinished. One Mogenar in particular was taken to be the Core Guardian of Bryyo's Leviathan Seed.

TriviaEdit

  • The golems of Bryyo heavily resemble Kraid, being reptiles with three eyes, horns, incredible height, and tremendous girth. Additionally, the one Mogenar fought in the game features a variant of Kraid's music as its battle theme. It has thus been theorized that Kraid may be related to or descended from the Bryyonians.
  • Ben Sprout was responsible for designing the model.
  • The artistic design of the golems appears to have been based on the architecture of the Meso-Americans, such as the Mayans, the Inca, and the Aztecs.
