There are two Bug Larvas Samus battles in Norfair. The first one is encountered just after she obtains the Wave Beam. The creature can only be harmed by firing the Wave Beam at its stomach from below it. Only a few hits will kill it.
The second Bug Larva is encountered immediately after the last one. This time, however, Samus cannot use her beams. Due to the creature on the same ground as she is, she must go in Morph Ball form, approach the creature, lay bombs and let it run itself over them. If the larva traps Samus between itself and a wall, then she must fire Missiles or Super Missiles at it to scare it back. Once it has been defeated, she can continue exploring Norfair.
