Ceres Space Colony

Ceres Space Colony is the location where Super Metroid begins. After taking the infant Metroid aboard her gunship, Samus brings it to Ceres for it to be researched. As Samus leaves, a distress signal beacons her to come back to Ceres. She arrives back on the colony to find it all dark. Eventually, she finds dead bodies lying around. She progresses through the colony and meets Ridley, holding the infant Metroid in its talons. Samus and Ridley battle, though Ridley flees, causing a countdown to begin. Samus escapes intact, with Ceres exploding as soon as she leaves. She then follows Ridley to Zebes.
