The first version of the Cretaphid resembles a cylindrical tower. It was created using advanced Alimbic cybernetics, with its main role being to protect the Alimbic races most sacred possessions. It is seen in Metroid Prime Hunters protecting the first Octolith.
It is located in the Celestial Archives. Its main body is covered in small rotating weak points, which can only be destroyed when they are blue.
When these are destroyed, the main being of the Cretaphid emerges and becomes vulnerable, although it fires at Samus while exposed. After a short period of time, the core reunites with the tower and the process begins again until it is destroyed. Its main armament consists of several precision chemical lasers.
