Dark Splinter

Dark Splinters were Splinter Darklings that inhabited Dark Aether, although those possessed on Aether roamed there. Dark Splinters look strangely similar to Warrior Ing, and are much stronger than their Aether counterparts. One blast from a Light Beam will destroy them, or two Charge Beams. Also, Samus faces a huge Dark Splinter called a Dark Alpha Splinter.

Dark Splinters were the cause of the GFMC Task Force Herakles' demise.

• When first encountered near the crashed G.F.S. Tyr, Samus can defeat the group that appears without firing one shot. She need only stand near the edge overlooking the jungle far below and move just as they leap at her. If done correctly, they will soar over the ledge and fall to their deaths.
