Death Ball

The Death Ball is one of several special upgrades that are available in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes multiplayer. It is also available in Metroid Prime: Hunters under the name Deathalt. When the player receives it, they will automatically transform into morph ball. However, around the morph ball is a small force field with electrical energy inside it. If the death ball comes into contact with another player, that player will receive a large amount of damage very quickly. In Metroid Prime 2, it can be used in single player with a Cheat Device.

While the Death Ball is likely to kill any enemy it touches and destroy any object it comes into contact with, it lacks the ability to lay a bomb, attach to Spider Ball surfaces, boost, or transform out of Morph Ball.

[edit] Countering Death Ball

The easiest way to escape Death Ball is to jump onto a platform that is only accessible by jumping or to climb a spider ball surface. If the player with Death Ball is on low energy then the obvious solution of shooting them becomes available.
