The comic begins with Mother Brain questioning why she should hire 'Big Time' Brannigan, and why he thinks he can capture Samus. After hearing remarks that he has a 100% efficiency rating, she hires him. Suddenly, Samus is detected by Mother Brain, and she orders Brannigan and Zoomer to attack Samus.

Meanwhile, Samus is shown testing new weapons out on enemies. She encounters Big Time and they have a short duel. He manages to convince her to hand over her gun. They approach Mother Brain's chamber and Big Time refuses Mother Brain's order to pick up his pay on the way out, saying that if he shoots Samus he will be the top bounty hunter undisputed.

Just as he tries to shoot however, the shot backfires as Samus booby trapped the gun. He screams in agony, saying that he has lost his rating and his life. The comic concludes with Samus saying "You did get me, Big Time - but just not the way you wanted!"

Non-canon warning: Non-canonical information ends here.

  • Samus is seen demonstrating the ability to shoot from her fingertips and grab ledges without the Power Grip. Since this comic was released in the 1990s, it is safe to say that this information has been retconned.
  • Reo and Zoomers are seen wielding small firearms in the comic. This parallels the Iono Feria in the later released Metroid Manga.
