Defender Rings or Nodes Rings are special points on multiplayer arenas in Metroid Prime Hunters, when playing Defender or Nodes matches. The object of both game modes is to stand in one of these rings for a period of time until a point is rewarded. This takes some time and is represented by a timer in Defender and a progress bar in Nodes. If an enemy steps into the ring while one Bounty Hunter is controlling it, progress on the capture will stop until either competitor is killed. In Nodes, the rings are color-coded by the team controlling them. In non-team battles, red represents enemy-controlled rings and blue represents rings controlled by the playing Hunter. The team with the most amount of controlled rings wins the match.
