File:Delano 7.JPG

The Metroid Prime Hunters model of the Delano 7.

Delano 7 is Sylux's gunship. It is a stolen Galactic Federation prototype, as is all of the hunter's gear. Scanning it in Metroid Prime Hunters reveals it is designated as a "Delta-class Strike Fighter". It is the same color and design as Sylux's armor and is seen twice by Samus, first on Vesper Defense Outpost, where the ship used similarly to that of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption's Command Visor, and secondly on Alinos where it flew over Samus but strangely did not attack. Sylux calls it in when Samus Aran is cornered, and the ship automatically fires its turret at her until she defeats Sylux. The turret can temporarily be deactivated by shooting at the ship as this is one of the Ship's design flaws. The ship itself is based on Federation plans which were stolen by Sylux; the Delano 7 is a Federation prototype. When all the hunters escape the Oubliette, their ships are seen as colored lights, it is evident that the blue light is the Delano 7.

Trivia

  • "Delano" is an old male French name meaning, "Of the Night."
  • There is a glitch where, if Samus chooses to go to Arcterra instead of the Vesper Defense Outpost, and collects the Imperialist, using it to headshot and defeat Sylux when the ship appears, the ship will not disappear unless Samus leaves the area, but will continue to fire at her.[1]
  • In the 100% ending of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, a mysterious spacecraft vaguely resembling a Delta-class Strike Fighter unlocks its wings, making an odd noise, and pursues Samus from Elysia.
