The FG-1000^[1] is a mass-produced guardbot. Three are encountered by Samus Aran in the Biosphere in Metroid: Other M, and several more at later points in the game. They appear to be floating turrets that ram into her and fire beams at her as well. They are only vulnerable when charging their fire. The first group's defeat rewards Samus the Diffusion Beam.

FG-1000 alone are known to fire and ram, but later on, a pair of these fire concentrated electricity, thus, shooting through transparent and semitransparent obstacles.

They are encountered again in a Pyrosphere corridor, but since Samus has the Ice Beam and Wave Beam by that time, she can pierce their armor with uncharged shots at any point. They also appear in zero gravity areas near Sector Zero and in the Bioweapon Research Center.

TriviaEdit

• Strangely, the Wave Beam can penetrate the armor of the FG-1000, yet it is the Plasma Beam that pierces through enemies. However, the FG-1000 is mechanical and the Wave Beam is electrical, explaining why the latter is effective on the former.
• They resemble the Tau Drones of Warhammer 40K.
