This article is about a statue. For the bosses in Super Metroid, see Torizo.

Samus approaching the fake Chozo Statue in Metroid Fusion.

In Metroid Fusion, Samus Aran encounters a Chozo Statue in Sector 1 of the BSL Station. However, it turns out to be a Fake Chozo Statue. This should not be confused with a Torizo, a live Chozo Statue. It's similarity to an actual Chozo Statue is uncanny, and it even appears to hold the Morph Ball upgrade at first. However, once Samus shoots the shielded ball with her beam, it transforms into a Hard Core-X. Once Samus defeats this X Parasite, she obtains the true item it had in its possession: the Charge Beam. How the X Parasite managed to "absorb" the form of an inanimate statue is unknown, and a bit strange. It might have mimicked the form of a Torizo, and then had trouble animating the body, so in result changed immediately to a Hard Core-X to have combat capabilities, But this is only speculation. Putting aside all theories, this certainly seems to be an in-game reminder of the first Torizo battle in Super Metroid, or simply an homage to the famous item-holding chozo statues that have appeared throughout Metroid history.
