Amanda Rubright

Amanda Rubright is an American game designer and certified project management professional. She was a designer for the first Metroid Prime, but had no further involvement with the series, and departed from Retro Studios in February 2003. Rubright went on to produce games such as Bioshock Infinite, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, Supreme Commander, Guitar Hero and Treasure World. She is now an executive producer at Epic Games.

  • An unused, empty layer in the Central Dynamo room in Prime is labelled "Amanda", and may be a reference to Rubright; it may also suggest that she designed the room.
  • Before becoming a game developer, Rubright worked as a broadcast assistant and media buyer for D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles for seven months.
  • In her spare time, she enjoys quilting.
