Channel 51 was part of an online artificial reality marketing campaign for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, along with Athena Astronautics, Orbis Labs and Luminoth Temple. Channel 51, operated by Samantha Manus is modeled after conspiracy theory websites, featuring grainy screenshots and Quicktime videos of Echoes made to look as if they were photos of extraterrestrials.
The Mackenzie King blog states that "Channel51.org is worth a chuckle or two..."
