Connection Elevator to Deck Beta is a room on the Frigate Orpheon in Metroid Prime. Within the room is a Interface Module which activates a hologram, allowing use of the room's elevator. This room contains the first elevator in the game, the first in the Prime series, and the first in 3-D.
The Connection Elevator to Deck Beta found while Samus is exploring the wreckage of the Orpheon appears to be the same room. Upon entering the room, the floor explodes, causing a dead Space Pirate to drift upwards. There are 3 Aqua Sacs found in the shaft. The floor below was destroyed, and rocks now puncture the shaft. Wreckage serve as platforms for Samus to use to ascend or descend the shaft. Interestingly, Samus actually goes below the actual elevator shaft to get to the Hydro Access Tunnel.

Data[]
Logbook entries[]
Space Pirate
After crash
Morphology: Space Pirate
Sentient aggressor species well trained in weapon and melee combat.
Space Pirates wield Galvanic Accelerator Cannons and forearm-mounted Scythes in combat. This species seeks to become the dominant force in the galaxy, and their technology may help them realize this goal. Ruthless and amoral, the Pirates care little for the cost of their ambition. Only the results matter, and they take these very seriously.
Aqua Sac
After crash
Species: Aqua Sac
Will burst when subjected to impact or trauma.
Believed to be in the same family as the Sap Sac, this plant has similar features. It bursts when exposed to force. This protective response keeps most creatures from feeding on it.

Trivia[]
- Connection Elevator to Deck Beta is known internally as 03_intro_elevator before the crash and 03_under_intro_elevator after the crash.
- The Connection Elevator to Deck Beta after the crash is not the same one Samus explores before fighting the Parasite Queen. The room after the crash resembles the cylindrical rooms of the Main Ventilation Shaft Sections B and C.
- Deck Alpha Umbilical Hall is at the top of the room, but cannot be entered after the crash due to the actual elevator crashing and shattering at the bottom of the shaft. There are no platforms allowing access up.
- Another room of the same name is present on Deck Gamma. Samus uses it as an escape route after the Parasite Queen is defeated.
