List of rooms in Metroid Prime

Landing Site[]

Landing site overworld dolphin hd

The Landing Site on Tallon IV is a room in the Tallon Overworld. It appears in Metroid Prime. This is the first place visited on Tallon IV, where Samus Aran's Gunship lands and remains for the duration of the game. It is raining here, and the room is open to the sky and contains a small waterfall and pond to the southeast. Ledges around the waterfall allow access to the Temple Hall door. There are higher platforms behind the gunship that cannot be reached from this room in normal play before the Space Jump Boots are collected. The Waterfall Cavern can be reached through a short dry slope, partially hidden by rock, near the pool.

The Arbor Chamber is a room in the Tallon Overworld. It appears in Metroid Prime. It is a roughly circular room that is open to the sky, with a large tree stump in the middle. Under normal circumstances, it cannot be visited until near the end of the game, after Samus obtains the X-Ray Visor and Plasma Beam. However, it is possible to access early through careful jumps in the preceding room, the Root Cave.

Hundreds of tiny orange-red mushrooms litter the floor; walking in them or shooting them will cause them to release spores into the air.

The Frigate Access Tunnel is a room in the Tallon Overworld. It appears in Metroid Prime. It is a short cave-like tunnel of mossy rock and debris from the crashed Frigate Orpheon. It narrows to a section containing Tangle Weed, then opens out again into a large, round, metal tunnel that leads to the far door. This tunnel is actually part of the Frigate. It crashed through the end of this room during the crash, thus providing entrance to said Frigate.

This room remained intact after the Orpheon crashed into the Tallon Overworld. Rock formations broke through part of the shaft, and function to provide steps for Samus. The bottom of the shaft is flooded, and the huge rock at the bottom is blocking the door to Main Ventilation Shaft Section D. Access to that room is not possible after the crash. An Aqua Sac is visible beneath the glass floor. The water contains a school of 5 Fish. There is a passage leading out of the water that contains some debris that must be circumnavigated using the Morph Ball.

Cargo Freight Lift to Deck Gamma[]

Crashed frigate lift

The room survived when the Frigate Orpheon crashed into the Tallon Overworld. Like the rest of the crashed frigate, the room has become flooded. The elevator has crashed into the bottom of the shaft and is inoperable, and because it is inoperable, there are now platforms floating throughout the shaft that Samus can use to reach the top. If Samus arrives here without the Gravity Suit, a display warns "Power Suit augmentation required to advance", as the water's gravity prevents her from making any further progress into the crashed frigate and is forced to turn back. Aqua Reapers attempt to block the way. When Samus reaches the top, there is an explosion, and a dead Space Pirate falls into the water. If Samus manages to shoot the highest Power Conduit from below, before triggering the explosion, the camera's panning will reveal the Pirate to be dead on a platform (which is what explodes). Though most of the room is flooded, the top is not. The door to Deck Beta Transit Hall lost power, and must be powered by three Power Conduits. The first conduit is next to the elevator door slot. The second is on the side of a wall directly above the elevator. The third is to the left of the powerless door.

The room survives the crash into Tallon IV. All of the creatures in storage, except for the dead Parasite Queen, have disappeared, including the creature resembling a Sidehopper. The glass for some of the pods containing these creatures are missing. The bottom half of the room is now submerged in water. The elevator in the room is inoperable and stuck in between floors, and all of the computer screens are broken as well. At the top of the room are two Auto Defense Turrets. At the bottom are two Aqua Drones that are only found on the first visit after the crash, and cannot be found in any other room for the rest of the game. The cell where the Sidehopper-creature was contained now contains a Missile Expansion, and is sealed behind a Cordite door.

The door leading to Deck Beta Security Hall is de-energized, and requires the activation of 3 Power Conduits. The first Conduit is above the stasis tube containing the deceased Parasite Queen. The second is on the wall of the second floor next to the elevator. The final conduit is in the second cell away from the de-energized door.

Upon the second visit to the room, an explosion causes two Space Pirate corpses to drop into the water. Three Aqua Reapers also break open the door to the cell to the left of the Missile Expansion.

The walkway above the main room is now almost entirely blocked by debris, except close to the doors leading to Deck Beta Conduit Hall and Deck Beta Security Hall. The door leading to Connection Elevator to Deck Beta is blocked by debris. The hatch leading to Subventilation Shaft Section A was closed off by a large door after Samus passes through it. The door remains intact after the crash but is powerless and cannot be reactivated. The hatch covering a shaft below it was destroyed. However, it is blocked by debris. On the first visit, 3 Aqua Pirates are found in the room, but in the second visit, 4 Jelzaps can be found in their place. The door leading to Deck Beta Conduit Hall is de-energized and must be powered by three Power Conduits. The first is on the wall to the right of the door leading to Deck Beta Security Hall.
