Hub Access (also known as Docking Hub Alpha Access) is a room on Norion. It appears in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Description[]

Hub Access Norion

A Marine crashes through the top railing, debris flying.

The room consists of two small hallways, connecting it to other rooms, and a cylinder-like section in the middle. When Samus first comes to this room during the Space Pirate attack, a Federation Marine can be seen, getting smashed into a railing by a Pirate Militia and falling into an abyss. Once Samus defeats the Pirate, she can continue.

If Samus returns to this room after the pirate attack, she can find a Fleet Mechanic repairing the railing of the room. He will not speak to her, citing his busy work schedule.

Development notes[]

The internal name for this room is 0a_gfplanet_venttube. The keyword gfplanet indicates the planet Norion, and the alphabetic prefix 0a indicates that this is the first of 8 junction rooms on Norion.

The two black bars are known as Breakable Bars. Despite the name, the lower bar never appears broken.

A prototype version of this room features a walkway along one of the sides of the room. Its removal in the final is unclear, as the walkway would explain how Federation Marines and maintenance crew members would traverse through this area onto the next with ease.

Trivia[]

  • A sign in the Cargo Hub above the door leading to Hub Access reads Docking Hub Alpha Access. This is likely an alternate name for Hub Access.
