The Fedtech Plasma Generators power Norion's Defense Cannon. At the beginning of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the generators are knocked offline by the invading Space Pirates, so that they may launch a Leviathan at the planet. Samus Aran, Rundas, Ghor and Gandrayda are ordered to fly down to Norion to help repel the invasion. Samus gets Generators A and C online, while Rundas takes care of B.
To activate the Generators, Samus first has to jump off the central platform on which they would normally be situated. There is a manual override she must use, in the form of a security lever. This will activate a Hand Scanner. Using this reactivates the Generator. In Generator C however, the Generator is stuck. Samus is forced to navigate maintenance tunnels in Morph Ball form to manually dislodge it, and then defeat Meta Ridley as they both fall down the Generator Shaft before she can use C's Scanner.
