These are the items that appeared in Phase 3.

Major Items

High Jump Boots

High Jump Boots
Required items	Missile

At the bottom of the area, Samus must find the shaft with several midair pillars, and go through the first open hatch on the right, then drop down another, Autrack-inhabited shaft. She must destroy a Red Hatch at the bottom; through which the Boots can be found in a Chozo Statue.

Varia Suit

Varia Suit
Required items	Missile, Bomb

Hidden in the area is a tall pipe leading into a Morph Ball tunnel. The tunnel leads to a Red Hatch, through which Samus will find an empty Chozo Statue. She must bomb the floor directly in front of it to find the Varia Suit in a hidden chamber.

Wave Beam

From the same pillar-filled shaft leading to the High Jump Boots, Samus must proceed into the corridor on the top left, and then through a tunnel in the wall, to a Red Hatch. Through here is the Wave Beam.

Spring Ball

Spring Ball

Other Requirements	Kill Arachnus

At the top of the ruins, Samus must drop down a shaft, where she will find a Red Hatch leading to Arachnus' room. She must kill the Arachnus before she can obtain the Spring Ball.

Energy Tank

At the bottom of the pillar-filled shaft, Samus must proceed through the corridor on the left, and fall down a smaller shaft, then enter the corridor on the right. The Energy Tank is in a boxed-in area on the ceiling. The High Jump Boots, which can be seen in a hidden tunnel in the right wall, may be needed to access it.

Missile Pods

Missile Pod 1

Required items	Spider Ball

Entering the main cavern of the area, Samus must scale the first ledge in front of her, and then climb the wall before her with the Spider Ball. She will enter a tunnel higher up in the wall, and find the Pod.

Missile Pod 2

Missile Pod 2
Required items	Spider Ball

From the ledge on the top left of the same chamber that leads to an Alpha Metroid's abode, Samus must roll against the cave ceiling with the Spider Ball until she reaches a tunnel farther in it, that leads up to the Tank.

Missile Pod 3

Missile Pod 3
Required items	Morph Ball

At the very bottom left of the main area, Samus must proceed right to find a tunnel leading to a small alcove with the Pod.

Missile Pod 4

Missile Pod 4
Required items	Bomb

Under the Varia Suit, although to obtain this Samus must slide down a tall vertical pipe to find a hidden tunnel taking her to the Pod (after the Alpha Metroid).

Missile Pods 5 and 6

In the corridor on the bottom left of the vertical pillar shaft, Samus will find these Pods hidden within two boxed-in areas, one of which is on the ceiling directly above the other.

Missile Pods 7 and 8

Directly under the previous two, again in boxed-in areas, although both are on the ground. In the same room as the Energy Tank.
