Team Ninja, styled as Team NINJA, is a video game development studio formerly led by Tomonobu Itagaki which was founded in 1995. They are a subsidiary of Tecmo, and are known for the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series.

Team Ninja, led by Yosuke Hayashi, developed Metroid: Other M as part of Project M with Nintendo and D-Rockets for the Wii. The Geothermal Power Plant room from that game was featured as an arena in Dead or Alive: Dimensions for Nintendo 3DS. Prior to Other M's development, the gaming magazine Game Informer as their April Fools' Day Joke for 2007 had jokingly claimed that Team Ninja would work with the Metroid license (also showing on the cover Samus wearing a bikini and holding a volleyball near a volleyball net as well as various Metroids and even Ridley wearing similar attire, an indirect reference to Team Ninja's Dead or Alive Xtreme series, specifically Xtreme 2 which at the time had been its final Dead or Alive-related game).
