Seedlings are enemy creatures in Metroid Prime.

Description[]

Seedlings are plant-based creatures with a spherical frame with sharp spines covering their body. They are often seen scavenging the ground for food, feeding on whatever is edible. However, they are also often seen traversing walls and ceilings. When threatened, they will eject their spines in self-defense.[1] They can also create new spines to fire after launching the first set. In Metroid Prime Remastered, their seeds now have a visible splash effect. When the seeds make contact with Samus, her visor may become temporarily covered in an orange substance. Seedlings are rather delicate, and will explode if Samus comes into contact with them directly (though this will also harm Samus in the process).

Samus encounters Seedlings only in the Tallon Overworld areas of Tallon IV, specifically in the Temple Hall, Transport Tunnel D, Transport Tunnel E, Great Tree Hall and Life Grove.

Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion: Prima's Official Strategy Guide[]

Seedling
"These plantlike creatures look like blue shrubs that slither and slide along nearly any surface. Though they don't appear to be much of a threat, they can shoot their dorsal spines, which home in on nearby enemies. Practically any weapon is effective against them. Just be sure to shoot quickly when you see one, because their attacks are very difficult to avoid."

"Seedlings are found feeding on the grounds of Tallon Overworld. When threatened, they fire their dorsal spines that home in on nearby targets. Seedlings are easily destroyed by a few shots from any weapon in your arsenal, but shoot fast or you'll be stung."

SEEDLING
"Seedlings are similar to Zoomers, with one important exception: They can shoot spikes at intruders. The Seedlings will fire at you as soon as they detect your presence, so wipe them out with the Arm Cannon setting of your choice."
