Plaza Access (Agon Wastes)

Plaza Access is a room in the Agon Wastes. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is a corridor to, as the name states, provide access to the Mining Plaza. There are several Sandgrass stalks near the door to the room, and a Luminoth body can be seen on the ground. Scanning it states that it has been dead for 1.1 decacycles, and that its body has been badly damaged by sandstorms and heat exposure. Judging from the number of blast wounds on the body, it was dead long before the desert got to it.

The Dark Aether equivalent of this room is Ing Cache 4.

The Mining Plaza is the main room in the Agon Wastes. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The plaza is a large room with steps to the left of the entrance, they are unreachable without the Space Jump. Two large sandpits exist on each sides of the room, housing a Sandigger each. There are several Weakened Columns with sections of Brinstone that can be destroyed with Missiles. Atop a central structure is a series of solar lens that are controlled by sonic transmitters placed around the room. Next to them is a statue of Amorbis. Scanning it states that it might have been placed to warn travelers. An indestructible barrier prevents access to the Transit Station door. To access it, one must go enter the Dark World from Mining Station B, then proceed to use the Light Portal in the dark version of this room.

Agon Map Station - far view

The Agon Map Station is a room in the Agon Wastes. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is reached from Mining Plaza through a Morph Ball tunnel, the entrance to which is behind an Amber Translator Door. Samus requires both the Amber upgrade to her Translator Module and Bombs to lower the door and destroy Talloric Alloy blocking the tunnel. This means she cannot access this room until she defeats the Bomb Guardian and visits the Agon Temple.

The Agon Map Station is a small cave with no significant physical features of note. There appear to be holes in the walls and ceiling, which may have been caused by Sandiggers, and small mounds on the floor with a spotted pattern. The Map Station itself is in the center of the room and provides a map of the surrounding area. There is a Blueroot Tree in this room, but no hostile enemies.

Once the Space Jump has been recovered Samus can jump up to a ledge beside the statue and follow the corridor to find some Lore and a switch. If she scans the switch then one of the sand waterfalls will stop, and D-Chr's statue can be used as a platform to get up to a higher door.

Portal Terminal

The Portal Terminal is a room in the Agon Wastes. It appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is the room with the second Portal that Samus uses, after the one in Hive Chamber B. However, before she can use it, she must defeat several Pirate Troopers that attack her, and then a Bomb Slot next to the portal terminal can be used. This can be used to power a Morph Ball lift. Samus must then Bomb three Talloric Alloy blocks to power the portal generation system and allow Samus to use it. Because her last trip through a Portal ended in Samus being attacked, she hesitates before slowly entering it and travelling through the interdimensional void.

There is also another Bomb Slot in a state of transdimensional flux near the door to the Transport Center, this can be lifted by using another Bomb Slot in Portal Site, the Dark Aether version of this room.

Agon Temple

The Agon Temple is a Luminoth temple built in the Agon Wastes. It is a room that appears in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Agon Temple room contains the temple itself, Agon Energy Controller Access, the Agon Energy Controller, and various tunnels that lead to the temple. Agon Temple fell to the Ing a short time before Samus came to return the energy to it.

Agon Temple is circular, like most other temples, and resembles a pit or gladiator ring from Roman times. The temple is virtually the only part of Agon that is not part of the Space Pirate Base or the mining stations, not counting the room where the Luminoth portal is found (although many Pirates are found there).

Agon Temple has a variety of security systems, most of them easily breakable by a Bomb. The temple is blocked by two doors, and the passage around it is protected with granite blocks which prevent access. An Alpha Sandigger once made its home in the Agon Temple, before being possessed by the Ing and turned into the Bomb Guardian. The Bomb Guardian was destroyed by Samus Aran.

The Dark Aether version of the room is Dark Agon Temple.

Samus Aran is able to communicate with the hologram of I-Sha, which he created before death, and with his knowledge takes the energy from Dark Agon Wastes' Energy Controller and return it to the Energy Controller here. Samus also receives an upgrade to her Translator Module and becomes able to translate amber lore holograms and open amber Translator Doors.
