"What's the matter? All I said was that Komaytos look like little Metr-"

Non-canon warning: This article or section contains information that may not be considered an official part of the Metroid series in the overall storyline by Nintendo.
This article refers to the Final Smash attack in Super Smash Bros. For Gunships in the main series, see Samus's Gunship. For the specific Gunship featured in this Final Smash, see Gunship (Return of Samus).
Gunship FS lasers

First-person view

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, Zero Suit Samus has a new Final Smash known as Gunship (スターシップ Starship?). Due to the removal of character transformations in Samus and other characters, Samus and Zero Suit Samus are now separate characters that cannot transform mid-match. Though suited Samus keeps her Zero Laser without the disadvantage of shedding her Power Suit, Zero Suit Samus's Power Suit Samus attack from Super Smash Bros. Brawl is rendered moot.

In her new Final Smash, she jumps up into her Gunship (taking its Metroid: Other M appearance), which flies offscreen and resurfaces in first-person view. Samus can then fire twin lasers at enemies for a short period of time. The Gunship is also part of Samus's entrance, which in Brawl was her standing up out of her crumbling Power Suit.

The attack bears similarities to Snake's Grenade Launcher Final Smash in Brawl, as well as the Dragoon item in Brawl and the fourth game.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the attack is replaced with a variant of Zero Laser.

Official data[]

Trophy[]

"Samus's spaceship carries her through space and serves as her base of operations during her missions. Zero Suit Samus will call down and board her Gunship with her Final Smash. Once she's in the pilot's seat, she has a short time to unleash up to five powerful shots from the ship's weapons. Foes aren't safe even hiding off-screen!"

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Official Game Guide[]

"Zero Suit Samus jumps into her gunship as it flies by and an aiming reticule appears on the screen. You control the aiming reticule with your control stick and use any attack button to fire the double laser beams from the ship. While the lasers are firing, you have a tiny bit of control to move them around still. Each hit scores about 15% damage and knocks the opponent away. You have up to 5 shots or about 15 seconds in the gunship, whichever comes first. Once done in the Gunship, Zero Suit Samus returns from the top of the stage. This Final Smash is best suited when going up against multiple opponents."
