Howard Lincoln is an American lawyer and businessman, the former chairman of Nintendo of America and the former CEO of the Seattle Mariners. Lincoln chaired Nintendo from 1983-1999.[1] He is credited with saving Nintendo from a lawsuit brought about by Universal City Studios, who accused Donkey Kong of infringing on their rights to King Kong, and for establishing Retro Studios as a first-party developer. Lincoln was credited under special thanks in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, as well as many other Nintendo games up to 2014. After leaving Nintendo, Lincoln became the CEO of the Seattle Mariners, resigning in 2016 after Nintendo sold most of its stake in the team.[2]
