Jesse Spears is a software engineer and programmer at Retro Studios, which he joined in 2005. Spears has engineered Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid Prime Trilogy, as well as Retro's Donkey Kong Country games, Mario Kart 7, an internal project that was never greenlit nor made public, and Retro's current project. According to his LinkedIn page, most of his work on the projects include C++ and occasionally C#.
Spears has been a professional programmer since 1992. He programmed games at Three-Sixty Pacific Inc., Atomic Games, Intracorp, Top Dog Software, Inc., Monkey Byte Software, Human Code, Westlake Interactive, Knockabout Games and SpearSoft. The latter is a company Spears founded himself in 1998, although it is "very much a part time hobby at this point."
