"Astrometric displacement of the Sun due to Jupiter"
Various year numbers are overlain on this chart.

The image also appears in the concept art of Metroid Prime, but is not used for any in-game scans.

Original unmodified NASA image.
Full text: "Astrometric displacement of the Sun due to Jupiter as at it would be observed from 10 parsecs, or about 33 light-years."

Jupiter is the fifth planet out of eight from the Sun, Earth's star. It is named in small font beneath a diagram in the Metroid Prime Trilogy art booklet.

  • The original image and text appear to have been taken from NASA, who used it in this article on astrometric measurement. The Prime version was made into a negative and then had orange and blue circles added.
