The Lightblast is the Charge Beam technique for the Light Beam in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is not to be confused with the Sunburst, the Light Beam's Charge Combo. When the Lightblast is fired, it releases several white-hot spheres in a scattershot fashion. These spheres will home in on locked-on targets, and set them on fire if applicable. The number of spheres depends on the time the beam has charged, ranging from 3 to 10. This makes the Lightblast quite similar to the Wave Beam in Metroid Prime.
