The mechanicreche is an unseen technology alluded to in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. In the past, it was used to create Elysians. The mechanicreche is mentioned only once, in the SkyTown Data entry "Gift", located in the Arrival Station. In that script, the author recalls the birth of The First Elysian, who "stepped out of the mechanicreche 1,450.82 years ago." Whether the mechanicreche survived into the present day is unknown as it is mentioned in no other scan in the game, and no mechanism is directly identified as being the mechanicreche.
This technology's name is a portmanteau of "mechanism", due to its apparent use in creating Elysians, and "creche", which refers to the Nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus Christ in Christianity.
