Melvin Forrest MP1 credit

Forrest's name in the credits of Metroid Prime.

Melvin Forrest is a product testing lead at Nintendo of America. Forrest tested a number of games from 1996-2008, including Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Other games tested by Forrest include several Donkey Kong titles and games developed by Rare for their original releases on Nintendo consoles, such as Jet Force Gemini and Perfect Dark.

His final credit to date is Disaster: Day of Crisis in 2008.

Sexual harassment allegations[]

Multiple former female contract QA testers at Nintendo have accused Forrest of making inappropriate sexual advances towards them. The accusations were published in an August 2022 report by Kotaku. Former contract testers said that Forrest would go after "all the associate girls" and comment on their weight or appearance. Because of his senior role, many of these testers felt they had to endure harassment from Forrest to keep their jobs. In response, Nintendo said that Forrest remained employed with them until at least 2017, despite not being credited in a game for nearly a decade, but would not confirm if he remained with them presently or was fired.[1]
