These creatures are cousins of the notorious Skree bioforms. But these creatures, however, succeed their cousins in offense, defense, and speed. Their metal armor lining the wings makes them invulnerable to all weapons fire from any angle other than directly under. At the same time, the streamlined sharp metal points at the tips of their wings give these creatures both a very powerful attack against you, and a much faster dive bombing velocity. Yet, these creatures don't self-destruct like their cousins do. Once a Metaree begins a dive bomb, it simply burrows into the ground, using its pair of wings a digging drill. These burrows can be observed over a Metaree's roosting site. In most cases, it is wise to just avoid these creatures altogether by simply running past them.
