New Play Control! Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is an enhanced port of the Nintendo GameCube game Metroid Prime 2: Echoes released on the Wii as part of the New Play Control! series, which ports Nintendo GameCube games to the Wii with a upgraded control schemes. Both this game and Metroid Prime are part the New Play Control! series, which made the entire Prime Series available on the Wii for Japan.

Like most games in the New Play Control! series, no major gameplay alterations were made. Minor graphical improvements will be featured, however, and the game now supports widescreen. Also, the Credits system from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was added, with bonuses like music, art and a Screen-Shot Tool purchased with Credits. Still, the most major addition was the new control scheme and options from Metroid Prime 3, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, except that the Hypermode button is now switches Beams. The Spring Ball feature was also included, activated after Morph Ball Bombs are acquired, to prevent Sequence Breaking.

The game was released on June 11, 2009 in Japan. America, Europe and Australia instead received the Metroid Prime Trilogy.
