The Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable is used to connect the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. The Fusion Suit and Metroid can be unlocked in Metroid Prime by connecting to Metroid Fusion with this link, and having either (or both) games beaten. Samus's Varia Suit can also be downloaded from an e-Reader card to Animal Crossing with this cable.
Super Metroid was originally the game unlocked in Prime through connecting. David Kirsch had built the classic SNES title into Prime, but Nintendo ordered its removal because he had used a third-party emulator to implement the game.
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid: Zero Mission were originally intended to be able to connect to one another, but both time constraints and the fact that their release dates were far apart prevented them from doing so. It is unknown what the bonuses would have been should the feature have been implemented, but it is likely that it would be reminiscent of Prime by including a ported version of a game and an unlockable usable suit ingame. Zero Mission, however, was able to connect to Fusion via the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable, and doing so grants the player a gallery of endings from Fusion, including those that only appeared in the Japanese version.
