Phaz-ing
A scan of a Phaz-ing.

A Phaz-Ing resembles a Phazon version of an Inglet, composed of Phazon instead of dark matter. It can be killed by shooting it, using the Grapple Lasso, the Grapple Voltage, or using the Hyper Grapple. Touching them in Morph Ball mode results in Samus being covered and damaged by Phazon. According to the scan they prefer to stay in this liquid form. This is due to the fact that in the liquid form they are harder to hit and can't be easily killed using the Grapple Lasso or Grapple Voltage. Their only attack is charging energy to shoot a phazon blast. Samus can use the Hyper Grapple on them on Phaaze to quickly drain Phazon.

Logbook entryEdit

Phaz-Ing
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption "Morphology: Phaz-Ing. Wall-crawling shape-shifter. Vulnerable to physical stress.
Phaz-Ing bodies are weak to physical stress and can be easily pulled apart. These morphing blobs of Phazon often prefer to stay in puddle form and will only shift out to attack. Their ability to move over all types of terrain allows them to position themselves at a distance before assaulting with bursts of Phazon Energy."

EtymologyEdit

The Phaz-Ing's name is possibly derived from a portmanteau of the words "Phazon" and "Ing", and also a play on the word "phasing", referring to how the creature phases in and out of its liquid form.

TriviaEdit

  • The uncanny resemblance between Phaz-Ings and Inglets has caused belief among fans of a possible connection between the former and the Ing. No official word from Retro exists, however.
    • Not only do Inglets and Phaz-Ings look alike, they also have identical sounds when attacking.
