Reptilicus Hunters are creatures from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Hunters are a specialized variant of the Reptilicus warriors. They are Reptilicus that have been mutated by Phazon, giving them powers that a normal Reptilicus doesn't have. Hunters have all the abilities of a Reptilicus plus the ability to turn invisible and also have the ability to warp short distances (but do not use it as often as their cousins). They are found on Bryyo.

Reptilicus Hunters appear to be stronger versions of their cousins, the normal Reptilicus. Their skin is a much lighter tone, and their physical appearance is more muscular and bigger than that of the other Reptilicus. They have none of the spikes seen on the backs of the other Reptilicus, and also do not have the ability to warp as well as their cousins do. They are however not hostile to the other form of Reptilicus, and are the form to utilise Warp Hounds the most.

Until Samus gets the Ice Missiles and the X-Ray Visor, the easiest way for her to deal with them is to go into Hyper Mode. Once the X-Ray Visor is collected they can be seen when they are invisible, and the Ice Missile will slow them down or freeze them leaving them vulnerable to attack. Samus can also freeze their chakram (the boomerang-like weapon) and the player will get a friend voucher.

[edit] Logbook entry

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: "Phazon corruption has granted Reptilicus Hunters the ability of cloaking themselves. They use this to their advantage and will hide or move positions while cloaked to gain the upper hand in combat. Reptilicus Hunters are fairly organized despite their primitive nature. Usually attacking in small groups, they patiently wait for their prey to become isolated in a locked area before attacking. Their weaponry consists of an energy whip for close-range assaults and a throwing charkram for long-ranged attacks. They have adapted to the harsh climates of Bryyo, and are quite resistant to Fuel Gel and heat-based attacks."
