Rezbit

Rezbits are dangerous rogue patrol drones originally designed by the Luminoth, specifically as security for the Sanctuary Fortress.

Rezbits are curious looking mechanisms. In reality, these machines are only composed of 3 metallic sphere objects, which are seemingly tethered to each other in a magnetic field, all of which are suspended from over the ground. They project a great many Amber holographic panels which accompany the three spheres; these panels don't seem to have any function other than increasing the visual size of the Rezbit, to perhaps intimidate smaller Ing beings.

Rezbits are meant for combat. For their purpose, they are armed with a large arsenal of combat systems. The Rezbit's most commonly used weapon is a highly charged variable beam cannon, with a high rate-of-fire energy burst launcher not far behind. When dealing with Mechanoids or opponents using powered armor, Rezbits have the option of transmitting a powerful virus that can cripple the Power Suit's systems for a time, forcing the suit to reboot. To protect themselves, Rezbits can raise a blue hexagonal barrier shield that completely negates projectile weapon effectiveness. This barrier can only be projected forward, so coming up close to fire from under the drone will bypass this defense. To avoid damage by other means, Rezbits can shift into an energy state, annulling all lock-on visor functions, except for the Echo Visor which can still lock onto the drone's sound emissions. When in this state, Rezbits will utilize their virus delivery system, as mentioned above. Using traditional methods to dispose of a Rezbit will take some time and patience. One quick way to dispose of the mechanism would be to use the Dark Beam's Entangler, and then fire one missile. But the quickest and most effective method is to simply hit the Rezbit with the Screw Attack, which can make short work of both a Rezbit and its shielding.

Rezbits are sometimes placed by the Luminoth in critical places that heavy troops cannot support due to lack of space, such as in the entrance to Sanctuary Fortress. Rezbits, however, are more often used as general security, and can be found in various places.
