Secret Message

The Secret Message is an easter egg found in Metroid Fusion. To see it, you must perform a difficult series of Shinesparks in Sector 4 after Samus has opened Level 4 security doors, but before she obtains the Diffusion Missile. This process is very difficult and could potentially be a form of sequence breaking. However, since the message is in the game, the developers obviously knew that players could do this, causing Adam to direct Samus to obtain the Diffusion Missiles immediately after entering a Navigation Room to avoid further sequence breaking.

An alternate method involves firing an ice missile on the barrier while it is closed, achieved by space jumping a platform then shooting the missile diagonally down into the barrier. The European version fixed this bug.

In the message, Adam is impressed by Samus's technique to skip the Diffusion Missiles. A shadowy figure working for the Galactic Federation appears to congratulate her as well and wants to reward her by telling Samus about the Federation's secret Metroid breeding program. However, Adam states this is unwise, and prevents him from doing so, telling Samus to continue her mission.

Adam:
Samus, I'm impressed that you were able to make it back.
That trick with the Shinespark was very...ingenious.

(A Federation employee then pops in, seemingly only speaking to Adam)
Federation Official:
That's our Samus Aran! Magnificent! Truly Magnificent!
As a reward, let's fill her in on our plan. Hmm, computer?

Adam:
That is...not advisable.

Federation Official:
Bah...

Adam:
No more joking.
Samus, get back on task.
Is your objective clear?
