The Sight Window in Metroid Prime.

The Sight Window[1] is a rectangular reticule that appears when using the Scan Visor in Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime Hunters. It is through the Sight Window that Scan Points can be viewed, representing objects that can be scanned in the area.

When scanning an object, the window decreases in size to a square, except in Hunters where it remains the same size. In Echoes, a holographic 3D model is projected in the window while the scan is on-screen.

In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the Sight Window is replaced by a freer-moving hexagonal reticule to accompany the new Wii Remote controls. Echoes and the Wii versions of Prime contain an additional smaller reticule within the window. In the Wii versions of Prime and Echoes, the window is circular rather than rectangular.

The Dark Visor has a similar sight window in which enemies and transdimensional objects are colored red and locking onto certain enemies becomes possible. It is shaped differently from the Scan Visor's Sight Window, however.
