Skorp as it appears in Metroid II: Return of Samus

Skorp is a species on SR388. This scorpion-like creature attacks by cutting tunnels out of the rock to strike with its disk saws. It attacks and then retreats to hide in its tunnel. This creature poses little threat to Samus.

Skorps have an uncommonly high drop rate for Missile ammunition, making them handy for replenishing Samus' stock before a Metroid battle.

"They come out from their holes to attack with their disk saws."

  • The name "Skorp" likely derives from the word "scorpion."
  • It is unknown whether or not the Skorp species became X Parasite hosts, as Samus does not encounter any Skorp-X in Metroid Fusion.
  • Skorps do not appear in the remake of Return of Samus, Metroid: Samus Returns.
