A Stoke is an unused creature in Super Metroid. It is a very small Crocomire that runs around spewing small flames at Samus. Its AI is incomplete, it cannot recognize slopes and runs through them. Stokes are loaded in RAM in the Crateria room with a small morph ball tunnel that requires the bombs which leads to a missile pack.
The name is derived from the internal memory of Super Metroid, where the file for this enemy is labeled "STOKE". These names are not always consistent with the actual creature's name, sometimes only comprising part of it and other times completely unrelated. However, no other known name for this creature exists, official or otherwise.
