Subchamber 5 is a room in Metroid Prime in the Impact Crater, the last of the five "subchambers", but is not battled in, nor does any gameplay occur here. Samus merely drops through this vertical shaft on her way to the final fight.
When Samus defeats Metroid Prime, the creature staggers back into a weakened wall, blasting through it and falling down all of Subchamber 5 into the Metroid Prime Lair. Samus walks to the edge of the chamber, observing the drop, and jumps down after the creature.
Many Phazon growths can be seen on the walls of the cavern when Samus overlooks the edge. They seem to get larger towards the Lair.
- Throughout the entire Metroid Prime Trilogy, Subchamber 5 is one of three rooms to never feature any gameplay at all, the other being Norion's Control Tower and the Sky Temple Grounds Portal Site.
