According to the official Japanese Metroid Fusion Guide, this is a Geruta, although it is spelled "Geruda". I'm not sure, but that may be the way it's spelled in Japan, either that or it's referencing it's X nature by making it a one-off of the original. The one with armored claws that the wiki calls a Geruta is actually "Gerubas". Zeruel21 01:15, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps we could just merge it with Geruta. Onion pistol 23:02, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Merge with Geruta?[]

So after checking out the scans of the Japanese guide, it seems to confirm that a lot of X enemies who are very different from their natural counterparts (Zeela, Yard, and Geemer, for example) have the same Japanese names and therefore are likely intended to be the same species.

So, why not Geruda? According to Metroid Database, the "t" in "Geruta" is actually a result of mistranslation during localization, and this can be seen by the fact that they have identical Japanese names. While they are certainly different, they do have enough similarities that are noted on this page... and like I mentioned, there are other X enemies that are also very different from their natural counterparts.

For the record, Gerubus has a different Japanese name from Geruta, but it's already been merged with the main Geruta page. --PeabodySam (talk) 18:40, July 24, 2018 (UTC)

I think this could be merged. When you say scans, are you saying you have a copy of the JP guide, or were you going off the MDb's scans? RoyboyX(complaints/records) 18:44, July 24, 2018 (UTC)
I'm going off the MDb scans for the Metroid FDS manual and Fusion guide. Just for the record, I don't own any guide books, so I'm only able to use the resources that are available online. --PeabodySam (talk) 18:49, July 24, 2018 (UTC)
