An Elite Pirate utilizes its Wave Quake Generator in Metroid Prime
Wave Quake Generators (also known as a Wave Quake projector) are used by Elite Pirates and the Phazon Elite in Metroid Prime and by the Omega Pirate in both Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime Pinball. The Wave Quake Generator is activated when either type of Elite smashes one or both of their fists into the ground, sending a massive shock wave that can only be dodged if Samus jumps over it. The Metroid Prime's core essence uses a similar attack. A variation of this weapon may have been used by Ingsmashers, Berserker Knights and Berserker Lords. In Metroid Prime Remastered, the wave-like effect on the shockwave has been toned down, with the shockwave now appearing as a simple colorful ring of cyan (possibly Phazon) energy. Also the Elite Pirate's hands do not pulsate with purple wave-like energy when unleashing the attack.
