Will Bate is the art and animation supervisor at Retro Studios. Bate has worked at Retro since 2006, and was an animator for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, in which he is credited as William Bate. Prior to joining Retro Studios, Bate was an animator for 3D Realms in 2003-2006, where he worked on Duke Nukem Forever, which would not be released until 2011. Two other Duke Nukem Forever animators, Brian Kowalczyk and Raphael Perkins, were hired by Retro and animated Corruption as well. Bate has subsequently been involved in the animation of Retro's Donkey Kong Country games and Mario Kart 7. According to his LinkedIn profile, Bate's specialties are character animation and rigging, as well as MEL and Python scripting.
